The Fifth Blog Of Christmas Is About Ordering Gifts
Remember the days of getting in your cold car early in the morning on a weekend before Christmas to go hit the malls and ten other stores searching for the gifts you needed to get for your friends and family? And remember how after a very long day of walking from shop to shop and in and out of your car driving here and there the frustration of not being able to find that one perfect item you wanted for someone? I do very well, but over the last couple years I have become more and more dependent upon the wonderful world of the internet. I mean I think of something I want to get someone now and I go first to the computer. I will see if I find the item locally but lately more times than not I find I am ordering from some shop on the other side of the country.
Now this is very cool for the most part because it saves a lot of running around, in Minnesota thats usually in miserable weather conditions. Although waiting for your shipping confirmation, and then hoping you are home when they arrive with your package because a lot of times they won’t leave it. And my personal favorite, the shipping company that couldn’t find my house so rather than call they take it back to the sort facility while I continually re-track and watch out my window hoping it will arrive only to track it in the morning and find that they have decided that I wasn’t home. I was home all day!! Waiting for my package!
So I guess it’s one of those things you have to decide for yourself, either way to me can be stressful and I am not a patient person, I like immediate gratification so I find it easier at times to run around and get my item’s then to sit in my house waiting at the whim of the delivery man. But I will say you can’t beat the feeling of getting that one rare item that nobody knows how you got it or where it came from except you.
