The Sixth Blog Of Christmas Is All About The Food

Ah now this is one of my favorite subjects. There is nothing more appealing than holiday food, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. As I said before my mother puts on an amazing Christmas Eve and day spread. She starts the baking weeks in advance, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate banana bread and cranberry bread, oh and one of my favorites chocolate cherry bread. All different kinds of cookies, candy, and breads are prepared and then Christmas Eve arrives and theres chicken wings, crab roll-ups, shrimp cocktail, sweet meatballs and those little bar bq weenies. It goes on and on and a huge ham dinner on Christmas day, my mother should really have become a caterer because she knows how to put together food.

I don’t think there is anything more cozy than being with you’re family sipping eggnog eating holiday goodies and just enjoying each others company. I have so many good memories of times like this, and when my grandmother was alive the three of us in the kitchen preparing all the glorious treats was another favorite time for me. Something about holiday food just makes it all so special for so many people, if you ask them about some of there holiday memories nine times out of ten they will mention some sort of recipe their family makes. I would like to share one of our families traditional foods so I have received permission from my mother to give out her easy but delicious crab roll-up recipe.

CRAB ROLL-UPS
One loaf white bread- remove crusts and roll each piece flat with rolling pin
melt 1 stick of butter
put 1 pound of velveeta cheese into melted butter and slowly melt
add 1/2 a package imitation crab or 1 can real crab to melted cheese and butter
put a dollop of cheese butter mixture on flattened bread and roll up as tight as possible
melt 1/2 stick butter and brush on rolls
bake at 350 until golden brown
sprinkle with sesame seeds
