The Eighth Blog Of Christmas Is About The Holidazzle
My son thinks it is weird I am going to blog about the Holidazzle Parade we have here in Minneapolis but I don’t want to go. Well I have gone the last couple years, one year was so cold the snot froze in your nose and last year it wasn’t so cold but it was hard to see and here’s my real issue. Where we live it takes an hour and a half to get to the metro transit train station, then if it’s not early enough the first few trains are full so you wait to cram into an almost full train to ride 15 to 20 minutes to the station by the parade route, then you walk 2 to 3 blocks to stand in the bitter cold to watch a half hour lighted parade. Now don’t get me wrong it is beautiful, and if you live in the city or are visiting downtown go for it it’s worth a short commute to see. But if you are a ways away like more than forty minutes I can name several other more worthwhile holiday activities that will last a heck of a lot longer than half an hour.
For instance go walk around Mall of America, it’s decorated very nicely and its heated and it can take all day if you decide to do a little holiday shopping, or go see a holiday show or concert, also usually heated and indoors and very festive, or one of my personal favorites just drive around a bit and look at your local area and the lights and decorations others have put time into. As long as your car is heated this can be a very comfortable and enjoyable event, you would be amazed at how much time and effort people put into there decorating.
Like I said I am not knocking the parade it is very pretty but for those of us that live so far from the cities its just a little unreasonable, maybe if they lengthened it to an hour I might be more interested but as it stands its to short and to far away.

Holidazzle!! I will miss the Holidazzle this year *sniffle*
Oh geez, if you really want we can go! You are driving!
