When I’m Stressed Out I Kill Things

I don’t know about everyone else but to me theres nothing more relaxing than sneaking up behind some heretic, drawing my blade and slicing into him for an almost fatal blow, or crouching behind an outcropping of rock with my glass bow and putting an end to the life of an annoying Imp. Yep thats how I relieve some of the days pent up pressure. As I may have mentioned before I have an Xbox 360 and one of my favorite places to go..er I mean things to do is play Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Man that was the time to be alive, or at least try. Forget handling things with contracts and lawyers back then all you needed was a good blade and the skill to use it. No busy cities and traffic, we are talking realms here with cobblestone roads and miles of nothing but the occasional bandit or wolf. And the hunting, oh man you have never seen so many deer and um some other things, like the occasional giant mud crab or minotaur.

I know I said I would do a review on Assassin’s Creed so here it is, it’s an awesome game so far, a little different from what I expected it’s more fast paced and actually based in the future and you are an assassin in your memory, due to a machine that you are forced to be in. Okay, thats the best explanation I have for now, like I said it’s great so far I will say more as I get further into it. The thing about Elder Scrolls is I owned III on Xbox and when I purchased my new 360 I bought all the popular games like Gears of War and Saints Row and they are amazing, but my hand to eye is not what it was 10 years ago and I can only take highly intense fast paced games for short durations. When I received ES IV I was completely engrossed and even after a year with it I find myself constantly drawn back to it, that other world. I do a little shopping, mix up a potion or two and depending upon how I feel set off in hopes of slaughtering something and acquiring some treasure.

Then theres Shivering Isles, the new expansion pack I just got for Christmas, it adds thirty more hours of game play to the hundred plus of the original, and there are new creatures and armor. *sighs* I may never come home…er I mean stop playing. I was always a huge fan of RPG’s, I was big into Everquest years ago but I could never justify the monthly fee when some months I was to busy to play. Other RPG’s have fallen so short in comparison, no this is the game for me. If the great creator had given me a choice I surely would have said “make me stealthy, fleet of foot, strong and brave, and set me down right there next to that dragon with the big treasure chest.”
