Mini Mo Wants To Blog

This is something I can’t believe I haven’t said much about already. As I attempt to type Mini Mo bites my pinkie, Microsoft lounges on my left shoulder and Morpheus gazes at me from the floor. What the heck am I talking about? My sweet furry babies of course, the rulers of my house, my cats. Although technically Morpheus is my sons cat he has been with me since the day he was born. Maybe I haven’t said anything because it seems cliche, I mean aren’t old ladies expected to talk about there cats? Or maybe its cat ladies talk about old cats? Or…oh never mind I’m doing it anyway. My cats are a big part of my life, like I said Morpheus is the oldest we have now, he’s been around about six years, he’s a massive 12 pound cat, but he is not fat he is big boned (like Garfield) his head is the size of a softball, he is the only cat I have ever heard of that will walk around the block or up to the corner store and wait outside the door to walk back home with me. We just found out he has FIV so that explains his more mellow behavior of late. Microsoft is the little girl, she is a petite tabby, siamese mix that thinks nuzzling my neck is just the best. I picked her up about 9 months ago for my daughter because one of our other favorite cats disappeared about a year ago. She has taken her name very seriously by renaming important files on my Mac in an attempt to destroy the offending system.

Then theres my little guy, Mini Mo, he originally was going to be named Mac just to stay in keeping with a sort of theme but it just didn’t fit. I found him right after I bought Microsoft, he was abandoned by his mother and living under our shed. He was scrawny, dirty, and the spitting image of Morpheus, who was inclined to fool around with the neighbors cat. So after a lot of meat scraps and coaxing I trapped the hissing spitting Feral little fur ball and got it in my house. After weeks of being in a box and some research and careful handling on my part he made his way out of the box and into our lives. I have taken a real shine to this little guy, he is my buddy, he follows me around the house, sits with me whenever I sit and he is truly the clown of the house. Clumsy, curious and not real bright he has found a place in my heart.

We recently had to get rid of our oldest cat, he had become very senile and was making a real mess around the house, so in order to maintain the peace around here I brought him to a shelter to live out what short time he had left on earth. Thats the problem with me I get to attached and I don’t have it in me to put one of my pets down, so I leave it up to someone else. Now I am down to three, and that is where I will stay (I swore no more cats) for now.
