WoooHoooo It’s Tax Time!
Most people dread this time of year, not me it’s my second favorite( Christmas being first of course). I can’t wait to get started on my taxes, it’s usually two days of gathering and entering numbers and some frustrated mumbling over the Turbo Tax home and business software I use but beyond that its nothing but excited anticipation. See I am one of the lucky ones, I am not married and I still have a dependent, so even though I do pay quite a bit in self employment tax I still make out like a fat rat.
I tend to spend my refund pretty fast, I borrow my sons accountants Willie and Nillie (inside joke) and I go buy all the little things I have been wanting or needing around the house, then I usually buy the one big item I have really been wanting, something tangible so I can’t say “Jeez where did I spend it all?” and have nothing to show. Like two years ago I bought my 52″ Magnavox rear projection television and an Xbox 360 with several popular games. Last year it was my Sebring, and this year new living room furniture is whats on my list, and possibly a dishwasher if I can swing it. My first priority is paying back my little Christmas loan I took out and making the final payments on this fine Acer notebook I bought from my son.
As of today I am all done everything has been e-filed and accepted and my refunds will be deposited next week, I really love how quick things are nowadays, I remember mailing in my stacks of paperwork and six weeks later you would finally get your refund. Now it’s a week, ten days tops, what a great age we live in! Good luck and Happy Tax time!
