Duma Key- A Book Review

I finished what I think is one of Stephen Kings best works, my opinion may be slightly biased because some of this book was based right here in Minnesota so I could actually visualize the places he mentions like Lake Phalen, and Mendota Heights for instance because I have been there. But it wasn’t just that, it was another true King work, it was creepy not just in your face scary. I like the kind of book that doesn’t just give you nightmares, instead it makes it hard to get to sleep, or you find yourself turning on more lights at night then you would normally, thats my kind of book and this one has that quality.

As I said it starts out based in Minnesota where this construction worker has a near fatal accident, after a long recovery he basically loses everything and on advise of his therapist begins fresh somewhere new, thats when things get interesting, he finds this amazing little place on a Florida key named Duma and takes up a new hobby. But what starts out as an innocent hobby quickly turns into another thing all together, and it begins to seem as if he didn’t find this place at all, but maybe it was waiting for him all along, calling to him to use in its evil plan. So without giving to much away I will say this is a definite good read, even if your not a huge horror fan like me its got a little mystery aspect to it that makes it a good book for people who are more into that kinda thing.
