My Last Real Trip

The last time I really took a trip anywhere was to attend my brothers wedding in New Jersey, I had thought it would be fun to take a week off and take our time driving there, so we could see some sights. This started out as an okay idea until we hit Pittsburgh, and we couldn’t find a hotel…anywhere…and it was very late…so we slept in the car, all four of us, it was a nightmare. The next delightful leg of our journey brought us to Delaware, why were we in Delaware, I still have no idea, but we did eventually find our way to New Jersey and we saw some of the amazing sights in New York, I wish I could have seen more but at the time I didn’t know how to get that kind of information, like where to find the attractions.

I guess now I would use a service like Trusted Tours and Attractions they have newsletters on every big city you can imagine and they have Family Vacation Ideas so you can view a list of family friendly activities for the city you plan to visit, from Key West Snorkeling to climbing Mount Everest. Our trip to New Jersey and New York was quite an adventure, especially when I had the bright idea to go through Canada on the way home. Now I have to say seeing Niagara Falls was truly amazing but I will never try to find my way through Canada again. We were lost for five hours, nearly ran out of gas, did run out of cigarettes (they didn’t have any American cigarettes, it was awful.) and it was the middle of the night, I was sure we would never find our way out again! I would go to see New York again but I would definitely have a better plan for our trip next time.
