Happy Easter

Easter is one of my daughter Katrein’s favorite holidays, she loves to hunt for Easter Eggs that have been hidden all over my mothers house. Now I only have one sibling and he lives in New Jersey, and my daughter has never really had a big family of cousins and such , and having my children 14 years apart kind of impedes them having much in common. Also they are so far apart they are almost like only children in the way they have been raised, but at Easter my daughter wants someone to race her at an Easter Egg hunt and because I refuse to rent a child for the day it always has fallen on my son.

Markus is such a good sport, every year no matter how old he gets he walks around finding hidden eggs, he always goes real slow so his little sister can win, and he goofs off by putting non-egg items in his basket, candles, dried flowers, etc. just to make her laugh. This year she asked who was going to compete against her and I said “Well I don’t know, Markus has gotten kind of old but you could ask him.” so she does and he says yes he will. A little later Katrein comes up to me and says “Mom I’m going to have to go real slow this year at finding eggs because Markus isn’t very good at it, he’s real slow, and last year I swear he put a pine cone in his basket thinking it was an egg.” This years hunt should be interesting and really long!
