My Delicious Ugli

I had my weekly shopping trip yesterday and I am always on the lookout for something new. As I scanned the fruit and produce area, grimacing at the exorbitantly high prices I came across this little beauty….. okay it’s ugly or more appropriately Ugli. Its a product of Jamaica and supposed to be a cross between a Grapefruit and a Tangerine, and at 88 cents a pound it was not only affordable but simply delicious. They are quite a bit larger than a Grapefruit, we shared one between three of us and it was like we each had a whole orange, and the flavor is very mild, not bitter and not to sweet, just really nice. So if you happen across any Ugli in your part of town give them a try, there looks and name are deceiving.
