Nim’s Island- A Movie Review

Yesterday my daughter Katrein and I played hooky and had a girls day out. It was actually a gorgeous day, finally reached 60 degrees and it was the day before my Birthday so we thought what a perfect day to go shopping and see a movie. I bought an amazing pair of sandals which I will talk about another time, but getting to the movie.

Nim’s Island is about a little girl named Nim (cute name) and her father who live on a desert island in the Pacific ocean, they have specific reasons for living this way but I hate spoilers, so all I will say is this is a terrific movie to bring your daughter to, it has comedy, adventure, its a little scary and sad in places but really a super cute movie. Jodie Foster’s character is great (I love her acting anyway) but she plays this one really well and reminds me a lot of someone I know, and the little girl she was in Little Miss Sunshine, another really good movie, and she is so sweet. Katrein and I loved it and it was the first movie where she didn’t have to run to the bathroom every 10 minutes, she actually held it and tried to make it to the end, but we still made one bathroom trip.
