I Wouldn’t Be A Blogger If I Wasn’t A Mommy

Last year my 21 year old son said to me “Mom you should start a Blog.” even though he had been blogging for years I only had a faint idea of what blogging was. I began to research other blogs, I read his more closely, he directed me to some friend’s blogs, like Courtney’s ‘Traveling Thoughts’ and others he liked to frequent like ‘Dooce’ and ‘Benspark’, and I found many on my own that I thought “Well I can do this.” and I also thought I had things to contribute to the blogosphere that maybe people might find interesting. Needless to say like thousands a day, and with a lot of help from my son Mark, my blog was born.

Now my blog is still very young and has a long way to go and grow before it will be everything I envision it to be but I love it. I have the fortunate situation of working from my home, I began working from home because my then 6 year old daughter had some serious health issues that made outside employment impossible, I was missing more days than I would work bringing her to hospitals and clinics. She is doing much better, but after two years my in home business has an established clientèle and reputation. That doesn’t however mean I rake in the money, its tight and I like to have more than just the bill money, so finding out I could advertise for companies just by blogging about them blew me away!

I mean seriously SocialSpark has brought together everything for me, I can work from home, I can raise my daughter and be here for her and I can make the money we need to get by in a downward spiraling economy, and best of all I love doing it! I love researching a company and coming up with something unique and original to say about them or a product I just can’t live without, telling others how great it is. Blogging and Social Spark have really changed my life and my job.

You can do this, and you are doing this. You’re doing a good job at blogging, I can’t even begin to tell you how often I tell Markus that he needs to harass you to blog because you’ve got readers waiting for more content :P)
