Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay- A Review

I went to see this Saturday night and even after seeing the first one and knowing there were some inappropriate moments it couldn’t prepare me for how many were in the new movie. Now don’t get me wrong I am no prude, I just rented Jackass 2.5 and even though it was gross I did laugh. Basically Harold and Kumar are on there way to Amsterdam, Kumar brings an ‘object’ on the plane someone sees it and in an effort to explain what it is the words ‘bong’ and ‘bomb’ get confused and a radical anti-terrorist official throws them into Guantanamo Bay, from there it is a matter of escaping and getting back there identities as non-terrorists. There is even a badly performed Pot Smoking President Bush, which comes off as a lot cooler than the actual President.

Harold and Kumar 2 kind of disappointed me though, the first one was hilarious, this one for me definitely fell short, it was like they tried to fill all the unfunny gaps with nudity and although it had a few hysterical moments they seemed few and far between. Even with the theater filled with young adults, who it is more geared towards there wasn’t that much laughter. So my opinion is don’t pay to see it at a theater you just are not going to get your moneys worth, wait and rent it, I mean its worth watching just not paying seven bucks a head to go see.
