The Tale Of The Haunted Pants

Once upon a time there was a woman who lived a pretty quiet life. She had a history, parties, traveling with bands, she had even met some famous people and lived the life of an artist for some time. But not now, no things were different now, not quite a suburbanite but edging closer each day, with Girl Scout meetings and PTO carnivals life had taken a turn down a much more peaceful path for this woman.

With the easy humdrum fluidity life sometimes has days and even weeks could pass without much event. Dishes to be done, vacuuming, dusting, occasionally yard work needed doing. Nothing unusual but the passings of a work at home mothers life, until one fateful day all of that changed. One day while gathering the weeks laundry she thought she heard whispers, she couldn’t quite make them out but the woman was sure they were coming from the closet.

She put her ear to the closet door and sure enough the whispers grew louder, she could make out some faint words….” Wear us…..open the door………unpack us….” The woman grew very frightened, for the only thing supposed to be in that closet were some old packed away clothes, things that used to fit a younger more svelte version of this woman. She leaned in again, this time the whispers were more urgent, getting louder, clearer…..”Open the door……..slip us on, you know we’ll have fun…”

The woman was now shaking in fear, she….

*Chad reading over my shoulder, “Honey I don’t think thats what they meant by write a story about ‘If These Pants Could Talk’…..
*Me ” Oh really? Huh, well I already wrote this, are you sure??”
