Whats In A Name

I have been thinking about doing this post for a long time, but I really just couldn’t get my head wrapped around what I was trying to say. So I am just going to do it now with the part thats been on my mind. I have an extremely common name, its my married name, even though I have been separated and divorced for seven years I have not changed it back for a variety of reasons. First and foremost because my daughters last name is the same, secondly its not easy to change her last name without her biological father signing something, the third reason I leave my name is because I have a very common name, if you look up my name even in the state in which I live you do not find me, I do not wish to be found. And thats where things get complicated, or more complicated I should say.

It just makes you wonder, a name can protect you as easily as it can hurt you, I have worried about using my daughters name on this blog but I researched our names in all different combinations and because she shares a name with a singer thats all that comes up. It makes you wonder though, how easy is it to lose ones identity, how much is really in a name? If I look up my name in relation to kittens I get a whole lot of information on a woman who apparently defrauded a lot of people she was supposed to sell kittens to.

So who says she is not me? We share the same name, maybe the same state of residence, really its just my word saying that I am a different person. Life is complicated, we rely on so much technology now that ‘Whats in a name’ can mean so much more than it used to. Identity theft is huge, it happens now so much more than it ever used to and protecting ourselves and our names is more important then ever. One of the services committed to helping you protect yours and your families name is lifelock it never hurts to be safe, you’d be amazed how often identity theft occurs every day.
