It’s Just My Oompa Loompa Smoking Crack

I think I have mentioned we have a swimming pool, for the last couple years we have had a small pool (12 foot round) and Katrein has basically taught herself to swim in it. This year Chad decided we were due for an upgrade, partially for Katrein’s growing ability and because we wanted to swim also and the other pool was the size of a large hot tub.

One thing about my daughter is she is a hyper spaz, don’t get me wrong I love her more than anything but she is wild and will drive you completely nuts, especially if you add water. Something about the addition of liquid around her and she becomes completely insane, “Watch Me, Watch Me!” as she flips over and over and does hand stands until her asthma kicks in and she can’t catch her breath. Then inexplicably she seems to speed up, like flitting here and there “watch me, LOOK, watch me!” As she flips and tumbles and swims and dives.

The other night we were all in the pool and Markus looked at her and he’s like “Katrein jeez settle down!” well in an instant she had flew past him, out of the pool and was running around it at head spinning speed and she was making some sort of inhuman noise that surely couldn’t have been words, and thats when I looked at a confused Markus and said “She’s like an Oompa Loompa on crack!” and well like so many sweet endearing knicknames we come up with for our children, it just stuck.
